Michele St-Amant


Michele is a Research Associate at the OPV and a PhD candidate at the University of Toronto’s Department of Political Science. Originally from the US, Michele completed her M.A. in Political Science at George Mason University before moving to Toronto to continue her doctoral work. While living in Washington, D.C., she interned at The National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terror (START) and at the Program on Extremism at George Washington University. Her work on white supremacist groups in North America has been published in Lawfare, and she continues to research IMVE groups at the OPV with a particular interest in gender and misogynist-based extremism. Her research often employs a mixed-methods approach, and she has received advanced statistical and quantitative methods training at ICPSR hosted by the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research.
